About the role

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Setup and maintain master level data and default settings for new items created in the Oracle EPR system.
  • Establish accurate material planning parameters for MRP (lead times, economical quantities, safety stock levels, etc.) and perform regular cleansing to ensure the business system can be used to its full potential.
  • Review, interpret, adjust and commit MRP planned orders for procurement and production and take appropriate action on MRP exception messages (reschedule in, out and cancel).
  • Interpret, communicate and explain the demand models (inputs, outputs, rationale, gaps) and provide business expertise on planning / MRP matters.
  • Align supply replenishment with production and sales demand to strike the right balance between service levels and inventory investment.
  • Identify the critical supply/demand mismatches preventing on time delivery and instigate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain a realistic rolling weekly assembly production schedule and coordinate with production team to set production priorities.
  • Analyse demand forecasts, inventory levels and production plans to determine capacity requirements and limitations and ensure full utilisation of available resources.
  • Interrogate available to promise information and expected ship dates for new and open orders and confirm acceptability of delivery dates for abnormal demand.
  • Support S&OP / production planning meetings to maintain an effective planning process and identify opportunities for improved planning efficiency.

Candidates wishing to be considered for this position should possess the following qualifications / experience:

  • Good working knowledge of core processes in demand management, production planning, materials management, inventory management and logistics with the focus on containing costs and improving service levels.
  • Previous experience in planning and scheduling via MRP
  • IT competence ideally Oracle ASCP/MRP and Microsoft Office
  • A methodical and structured approach to work
