Hydratight's first appearance at a major Texas engineering show in April proved to be a landmark event for Western Region business development manager, Paul Holland.

Paul's presentation: "Leak Avoidance: The Route to Joint Integrity Assurance", was one of 15 presentations selected to be heard from 23 submitted to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' Plant Engineering, Inspection and Maintenance Trade Show in Pasadena.

Paul discussed lessons learned from past leak investigation analysis and outlined a risk-based methodology operators can adopt to ensure plant start-up and subsequent production is leak free. The presentation also demonstrated how this methodology fits into a comprehensive joint integrity management system.

One of the major functions of the ASME is to share expert knowledge and create a networking relationship among engineers in complementary fields. The ASME also offers technical courses that emphasize practical expertise as well as mechanical engineering theory.

"The show is a forum for expert engineers to keep up with the latest trends in their field, so it was very gratifying to be selected to speak, especially on our first visit" said Paul.

Hydratight's presence has been felt at several other major shows over the past quarter.

In March we were at the Offshore Mediterranean Conference & Exhibition, a leading event for the Mediterranean oil and gas industry that brought together hundreds of companies and organisations from around the world. Over 370 exhibiting companies and almost 9,000 visitors attended.

Also in March we exhibited at the ninth Subsea Tieback Forum & Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas, the premier event for one of the fastest growing sectors of the offshore oil and gas industry. Over 2,500 people and 150 exhibitors attended.

In May, Hydratight's growing presence in the turbine energy field made attendance at the Windpower 2009 Conference and Exhibition essential.

This, the world's largest annual wind conference and exhibition featured over 15,000 attendees and over 1,200 exhibitors, who gathered to learn about the latest developments and technologies and review new products and services.

Finally, also in May, Hydratight was a presence at the National Petroleum Refiners Association's International Petrochemical Conference - the world's largest, most prestigious conference for the petrochemical industry, and one of the company's biggest events of the year.
