Hydratight's global learning and development manager, Karen Fleming, will be among expert speakers at Going Global 2010 the fourth international coaching conference, in London (March 11-12).

The bi-annual event, organised by the Association for Coaching, brings together leaders in the field of business coaching to discuss professional development, cross-cultural coaching and collaborations between in-house trainers and external coaching specialists.

Hydratight’s Cool Solution to Problem Pipeline

Household plumbers often freeze a pipe before a repair so the job can be completed more quickly and without the fuss of draining the supply.

Now Hydratight Injectaseal, based at Kerpen, has scaled-up the technique - by freezing a water main supplying hundreds of homes!

The company used its liquid nitrogen process on the main pipe at Erlenbach, 40km south east of Frankfurt, in a job for the local water management company, AMME. The result was a far faster repair than usual, with far fewer customers inconvenienced.

Successful Project Cements Relationship with LaFarge

Hydratight staff in Germany helped one of the world's biggest cement companies, LaFarge, to put a giant cement-breaking machine back into service far more quickly and cheaply than the only alternative - replacing it.

The massive double breaking hammers pulverise the raw materials into small chunks, but must to be replaced from time to time due to the massive amount of wear and tear they endure. But one of the machines at LaFarge's Woessingen plant, near Karlsruhe, was refusing to cooperate.

Global engineering services company Hydratight has appointed a new product manager to oversee its machining and bolting services divisions.

Mike Mroz, who joins Hydratight as machine product manager, has a strong track record of product development and market management. He is responsible for the strategic positioning of DL Ricci-brand machining products and product development.

Hydratight Excels at Boring Project

Hydratight machining expertise came to the aid of managers at the OMV refinery at Burghausen in the Bavarian "Chemical Triangle".

When optimising processes, OMV engineers wanted to improve tension on the base of two huge coker units.

This required the precise change of geometry on different borings and slots. Hydratight's challenge was to do this 196 times!

"Geometry change of borings or slots isn't normally a big task, even though the admissible tolerance here was very tight" explained Hydratight's project engineer, Goetz Wagnitz.
