MORGRIP® Connector Configurations
Hydratight's MORGRIP® Mechanical Connectors are available in all pressure ratings up to ASME/ANSI Class 2500 and above (on a case by case basis). Topside and onshore service MORGRIP® Connectors are assembled onto the pipe in a series of easy to handle cylindrical components, which are then bolted together as one unit. For large diameter topside applications (generally greater than 16”) the MORGRIP® Connector is designed to be stabbed directly onto the pipe as a complete unit; this stab on design is applied to all subsea Connectors for ease of deployment.
The Flange Adaptor terminates a bare-pipe with an ASME/ANSI Class flange forming a lightweight, compact and low-cost connection. The Connector can be employed to connect a bare-end pipe with a non standard termination such as a swivel flange, misalignment flange or hub connection. This configuration is used in flange replacement, pipe re-routing/tie-in, capping pipe that may require later intervention, and spool repair.
All Flange Adaptors have an external pressure test facility allowing the seal integrity between the pipe and the connector to be verified upon activation prior to re-commissioning the line.
The Coupling joins one bare-end pipe direct to another. The Connector features an external pressure test facility allowing the whole joint to be tested upon activation prior to re-commissioning the line. The Coupling provides a lightweight, compact and low cost option ideal for use in re-routing/tie-in, and spool repair applications.
The Pipe Adaptor is pre-welded to the bare-end pipe as part of the fabrication process. The Connector is then used to connect to existing pipework without the need for hotwork. The Connector has an external pressure test facility allowing the seal between the pipe and the Connector to be tested upon activation prior to re-commissioning the line. The Pipe Adaptor provides a flexible engineered solution to overcome specific piping repair requirements and installation demands.
The End Cap provides a simple and effective way of capping-off redundant pipe as a permanent repair or on a temporarybasis as part of a shutdown or larger repair procedure. The End Cap can also be used as part of a pressure test and can be provided with integrated porting for spool testing. The Connector is installed without the need for hotwork, and, has an external pressure test facility allowing the seal between the pipe and the Connector to be tested upon activation prior to re-commissioning the line.
Other Connector configurations are available such as Tee Connectors and Reducer Connectors on an engineered project-by-project basis through our dedicated engineering team.
