Morgrip 3000 Series topside connectors are generally used for pipe diameters where the 2000 Series is not suitable. It is used for temporary and permanent tie-in and repair of critical topside pipework.

The 3000 Series is an established and trusted method of connection for all critical and non-critical lines onshore and offshore on manned and unmanned installations worldwide. There are over 700 such connectors installed to date, with no leakage or failure, used in critical and non-critical flange replacement, pipework re-routing and spool repair applications.

The product carries extensive third-party approval, including DNV and Lloyds Register.

Used in sizes from 10” through to 36” and up to 2500lb ANSI class, the 3000 series is a firesafe connector with standard graphite/metal seal. The formats available are as per the 2000 Series including:

• 3000 Series Flange Adaptor for connecting bare pipe to a pre-flanged termination
• 3000 Series Coupling for connecting bare pipe to bare pipe
• 3000 Series Pipe Adaptor for connecting bare pipe to a pre-fabricated spool
• 3000 Series Blind Connector for blanking redundant lines

The 3000 Series features a gripping retract mechanism to enable the connector to be installed in a single piece, rather than being assembled on the pipe section by section as with the 2000 Series, which makes it easier to handle and quicker to install (the installation of large diameter connectors is up to 10 times quicker than welding).

As with all Morgrip connectors, the installation process removes the risk of hotwork and therefore the need for full shutdown.

The 3000 series is available to suit a wide variety of pipeline materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex.

Flange Adaptor

The 3000 Series flange adaptor is used to terminate a bare-end pipe with a standard flange or hub and is installed on the pipe in a single unit. The flange adapter has an external pressure test facility allowing the seal between the pipe and the connector to be tested prior to re-commissioning the line.

The flange adaptor provides a permanent or temporary firesafe connection for pipes up to 36" OD, and up to a pressure rating of 2500lb ANSI.

The connector is activated by standard tensioning tools, in a fraction of the time taken to weld and is used in flange replacement, pipework re-routing and spool repair.

The connector is available for carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex pipe applications.

Coupling

The Morgrip 3000 joins one bare-end pipe direct to another and is pre-assembled for quick installation onto the pipework. The coupling has a twin seal arrangement featuring an external pressure test facility allowing the whole joint to be tested prior to re-commissioning the line.

The coupling provides a permanent or temporary firesafe connection for pipework over 12" nominal bore, and up to an ASME class rating of 2500.

The connector is available for carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex pipe applications.

Pipe Adaptor

The 3000 Series pipe adapter is pre-welded to the bare-end pipe as part of the fabrication process. The connector is then used to connect to existing pipework without hotwork. The pipe adaptor has an external pressure test facility allowing the seal between the pipe and the connector to be tested prior to re-commissioning the line.

The flange adaptor provides a permanent or temporary firesafe connection for pipes up to 36" nominal bore and up to a pressure rating of 2500lb ANSI.

The connector is available for carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex pipe applications.

Blind Connector

The 3000 Series blind connector provides a simple and effective way of blinding-off redundant pipe. Alternatively, it can be used for pressure test purposes. The blind connector can be installed as a permanent fixture or can be re-used for the testing of numerous pipe spools.

The flange adapter provides a permanent or temporary firesafe connection for pipes up to 36" nominal bore, and up to a pressure rating of 2500lb ANSI.

The connector is installed cold, as a single piece unit, and has an external pressure test facility allowing the seal between the pipe and the connector to be tested prior to re-commissioning the line.

The connector is available for carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex pipe applications.

Pipe End-Cap

The Morgrip Pipe End Cap is used to cap redundant pipework either on a temporary or permanent basis.

End-caps are also used for pressure testing spools where they outweigh time and cost of welding dome ends to the spool.
