Extensometer

The extensometer was developed for use in the power generation industry where applications demand high accuracy and good repeatability.

The Extensometer measures bolt extension and assists with the monitoring of fully controlled tightening programmes. It requires the utilisation of bolts with heater holes as used in turbine applications.

It incorporates a monitoring facility for creep measurement of high temperature bolts, and has the facility to be used dynamically with Hydratight torque wrenches. There is a facility for hard copy printing.

There is a built-in digital read-out (metric or imperial), and the device has an accuracy of +/- 0.001mm (+/- 0.0005”).

Actuating rods are available for bolt lengths 127mm - 1400mm (5" - 55"). Collets are available for through holes of 12mm - 59mm (1/2" - 25/16") diameter.
