We all Learn Together

30th JANUARY 2009 is Hydratight's "Global Learning Day", when the company's 1,200 staff at 29 locations around the globe are encouraged to tune into special, company-organised web-based workshops and presentations on over 20 business and personal development-related subjects.

The one- to two-hour sessions encourage Hydratight personnel never to underestimate or ignore the power of learning something new.

Among the subjects are effective team working, cultural awareness, goal-setting, time management, subsea operations, market influences, fire safety and even the effective use of email and life-coaching.

Global training coordinator Joanne Adderley explained: "Training is one of Hydratight's most cherished attributes - a highly trained and well motivated staff means a better service for our clients.

"It's the way our staff not only get better at their jobs, but also how they have helped us to reduce accidents and injuries to ourselves and clients virtually to nil.

"But learning isn't something restricted just to an individual's own work; a knowledge of how things work, how systems operate and how others around us do things helps everyone to understand what we do and how we do it.

"The global training day is our way of telling staff it's good to be inquiring and to learn new things - in fact Hydratight positively encourages it."
