23 February 2009

Hydratight has achieved Global City and Guilds accreditation in a range of topside and subsea training courses, in mechanical joint integrity.

Feedback specifically from the subsea sector has resulted in the new accreditation meeting the needs of IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) members. The first courses run during February.

"Achieving this accreditation allows Hydratight to maintain its commitment to improve the skills needed to reduce leakages on all assets within industry sectors, while ensuring a clear focus on the health and safety of all personnel using high pressure hydraulic torque and tensioning equipment," said Gary Milne, technical training manager for Hydratight.

To achieve this accreditation, Hydratight has worked closely with City and Guilds, which is not only the leading skills provider in the UK, but also operates over 2000 centres in around 100 countries worldwide,

"Working closely with a global manufacturer and leader in its field such as Hydratight is an exciting venture," said Jonathan Hardy business development manager for City and Guilds of London Institute.

"Legislation requires such skills, and City and Guilds offers a platform to provide them globally, with industry best practice provided by Hydratight and its team of qualified experienced training instructors. It's an example of teamwork at its best."
