Hyundai Prefers Hydratight KSA

21 May 2009

Hydratight KSA has become a preferred supplier of bolt tensioning equipment to Hyundai Engineering and Construction, currently involved in building the giant Saudi Aramco Gas Facility in Saudi Arabia.

The status follows a successful bid to supply tensioning tools covering 1.25-2in sizes against tough competition. Hydratight's KSA sales team approached Hyundai as the project neared completion - a time when hundreds of joints need to be tensioned and checked.

After a demonstration of the quality of Hydratight equipment and the company's impressive quality, backup, rental and service capabilities, Hyundai placed a significant order.

The order led to further gains:
Hyundai contracted to hire 2.5in and 2.75in Hydratight tensioners when required on the project.

The rapid response of the Hydratight KSA team and a demonstration of RSL tools also prompted Hyundai engineers to buy even more equipment.

Hydratight also successfully completed several flange facing jobs for the Saudi Aramco project.

Collaboration between Hydratight and Hyundai staff on supply, documentation and certification on the project was such that Hyundai's project manager sent Hydratight KSA staff an official letter of appreciation for their work.

"Hyundai assured us that we would be included in their preferred supplier and contractor list for Bolting and OSM activities in future," said K K Anil Kumar, area manager for KSA/Bahrain.
