Company of The Year Award for Hydratight

12 December 2010

Hydratight has capped a year of extraordinary achievement by taking the major title at this year’s NOF Energy Awards.

Hydratight, British-based but operating all over the world, was named Company of the Year at the major industry event hosted by NOF Energy, the business development organisation for the oil, gas and energy industries.

The win follows a successful awards season that has so far seen Hydratight shortlisted for the Energy Industry Council Safety Award and the Oil & Gas UK Business Efficiency Award.

The December 9 ceremony, at Sedgefield, Co Durham, was attended by leading industry figures from the UK and international energy and commerce sectors.

The awards recognise national and international achievement in the energy industries and honour the British companies proving themselves “best in class” both in the UK and around the world.

George Rafferty, chief executive of NOF Energy, said: “Hydratight is a leading company in the energy and industrial sectors and the Company of the Year Award is fitting recognition of the quality business it created and the reputation it has established.”

In the face of the biggest global economic downturn in 90 years, Hydratight has managed not only to weather the storm but also ride it to new heights: expanding in new territories and consolidating in existing ones. New acquisitions have also allowed the company to grow in new market sectors.

Ian Basford, managing director of category sponsor, Stapleton International, said: “Hydratight has demonstrated a sound and strong performance over the past twelve months, which has been coupled with sustainable growth and a commitment to invest in the future. Through continuous innovation Hydratight has maintained its position, and the reputation of its products, at the forefront of industry.”

“We are delighted to win this prestigious accolade,” said Hydratight’s commercial director, Wayne Dennis. “It has been a great year for us both in the UK and internationally.

“We believe this award is a powerful endorsement of the company’s approach and the total commitment of its staff around the world. We were gratified to win NOF’s international business of the year award last year, and this new award is an even bigger endorsement of our goals and the way we go about them. We are really pleased NOF has honoured us in this way.”

For 30 years Hydratight has been known as a specialist bolting company, but in the past decade the company has grown remarkably. Today, Hydratight is a multi-faceted business offering technical expertise in bolting, machining and specialist training to powergen, oil and gas, chemical and aerospace companies around the globe. Hydratight now operates from centres in over 30 countries.
