Hydratight “IMPACT” Competency Assurance Programme
Hydratight has implemented a “Joint Integrity Assurance Programme” that exceeds the minimum standard that has been set by the Energy Institute “Guidelines for the Management of the Integrity of Bolted Joints for Pressurised Systems”.
Key in our drive to standardize on global technician training and increase technician competency levels is having regional trainer capability to deliver training and carry out assessments in line with our best practice methods and systems.
As a result a specific “Train the Trainer” course has been implemented, supported by a “Technical Training & Competency Manual” to align with our “IMPACT Programme”.
Hydratight have implemented a structured modular “Training and Competency Programme” that ensures our operators are fully trained and assessed in the required skill levels to deliver safe reliable connections safely and competently.
Control of the competence of personnel working on the disassembly, inspection, rework and assembly of bolted connections has been found to be the most important factor in preventing leaks. Competence is a combination of professional training, experience ability and knowledge.
The IMPACT competency assurance process details the management system required to assure the competency of Hydratight personnel employed in “Joint Integrity” activities to “Provide Safe, Reliable Connections

Competency will then be assessed by personnel qualified to internal standard or where applicable with region qualifications.
