Hydratight announced as Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) winner at top awards.

Joint integrity specialist Hydratight has strengthened its position as an industry training provider by being announced as a winner at the ECITB Training and Development Awards.

At the prestigious ceremony hosted in Manchester’s Midland Hotel, Hydratight’s Global Technical Competency Leader, Jason Barnard, collected the Individual Delivery of Learning award while the business took a highly commended honour for the Innovation in Learning category.

The recognition comes after the company designed an intuitive training portal to manage the ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI) process, implemented a bespoke Competency Data Management System (CDMS) to streamline employee certification and increased the number of ECITB On-Site Machining (OSM) training programs for delivery via its recently expanded Joint Integrity College (JIC).

Mr Barnard said: “At Hydratight, we’ve pursued best in class training through the latest industry guidelines, collaboration with safety and operational partners and development of proven in-class and e-learning methods. I’m delighted with the recognition we have received from the ECITB, an organisation we work closely with and greatly respect.“

Wayne Dennis, Director of Growth and Innovation, Hydratight, said: “We nominated Jason as we were under no illusions that Hydratight’s achievements in training thousands of industry professionals are down to frameworks he has put in place. Jason’s energy, expertise and commitment over 22 years is highly appreciated and he is worthy of this top industry award.

“As Global Technical Competency Leader, Jason has been instrumental in developing and standardising our training and competence programmes for joint integrity assurance. He is an original member of the ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity review panel, represents the company on the Pipefitter Apprentice Standard Trailblazer employer group and designed and managed our first Joint Integrity College (JIC). His guidance and authority is appreciated worldwide, illustrated by his presentation at this year‘s ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping Conference in Vancouver, Canada.

Hydratight champions legislative changes to improve standard practices and health and safety, following a dedicated leak-free from start-up “right first time” approach. To date the company has trained over 13,000 candidates, ranging from graduates to supervisors, operators and craft trades personnel in accredited and custom courses at Hydratight training facilities.
