Lube Oil Flushing

What is lube oil flushing?

Lube oil flushing is a plant maintenance service that flushes the oil lines of plant equipment to clean the oil.

Lube oil flushing is done by flushing the system with an online filtration skid. This removes all of the small particles to achieve the cleaning criteria (NAS 6/ or ISO 16/14/12).

  • Steam turbine lube oil system
  • Offshore ESD hydraulic panel
  • Compressor cooler lube oil system
  • Lube oil polishing
  • Cooler oil flushing

  • Keeping contaminants and debris out ensures a longer life of lubrication and associated systems.
  • Ensures industry standards are met.
  • Saves money, time, and effort.

Steam Blowing

What is steam blowing?

Steam blowing is carried out by subjecting the piping systems to heating, blowing steam and thermal cycles in sufficient number and duration (based on thermal shock, steam flow & cleaning force ratio). Methods include continuous blowing and The puffing method.

  • Steam turbine piping
  • Turbine blades
  • Captive power plant steam blowing
  • Power plant steam blowing
  • Refinery steam turbine piping blowing

  • Hydratight has an in-house developed steam blowing calculator.
  • Silencers are designed for low to high pressure steam vent up, while maintaining an 85dB noise rating or less at 50 ft.
  • Water Quenching design reduces the noise and steam heat at the exit point of the silencer.

Air Blowing

What is Air Blowing?

Engineered air blowing is an efficient way to remove construction debris, loose rust, liquids, and other contaminants from process piping. Every air blow procedure is specifically engineered for the individual system being cleaned.

Continuous Blowing < 4” Piping System

Rupture Blowing > 4” Piping System

  • Hydrocarbon process piping
  • Gas processing piping
  • Utility piping
  • Boiler feed water piping

  • Air blowing is efficient way to remove construction debris, loose rust, liquids, and other contaminants from process piping.
  • Minimum equipment and manpower is needed.
  • Resources are freely available.
  • Additional drying is not required.
  • Effective execution and efficient sequencing the of the air blows with 1.5 CFR (Cleaning Force Ratio).
  • Cost-effective: Air Blowing & Drying (-20 Deg C dew point) can be perform in single duration.
  • Hydratight target blowing is highly suitable for all hydrocarbon & Gas process line to confirm the system cleanness.

Water Flushing

What is Water Flushing?

High velocity water flushing is ideal for removing construction debris, loose rust, and mild scale. It is applicable to water systems where draining and drying are not required.

Compared to air blowing, high velocity flushing takes more time to rig in/out. It is more expensive, as it requires more resources (pump, tank, hoses, water storage tank etc)

Large amounts of water are needed, and some types of service lines will require additional drying.

  • New refinery pre-commissioning
  • Utility plants
  • Refinery process piping
  • Power plant feed water piping
  • Utility piping
  • Boiler feed water piping
  • Drinking and potable water piping
  • Fire water piping

  • Ideal where draining and drying not required.
  • Suited to the removal of construction debris, loose rust, and mild scale.
  • Easy to measure the flow rate/velocity - which ensures the necessary CFR is being met to achieve cleanliness.

Hydro-Jetting

What is hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water as a highly efficient cleaning method for removing rust, biofilm, limescale and old coatings.

  • Hydrocarbon process piping
  • Gas processing piping
  • Utility piping
  • Boiler feed water piping
  • Compressor suction piping
  • Drain piping

  • Environmentally friendly – no chemicals.
  • Instant, immediate results.
  • Economical compared to other cleaning services.
  • Recommended for thick deposits on pipes or equipment (e.g., fouled heat exchangers).
  • No major shutdown required.

Testing Services

Hydrostatic testing

What is hydrostatic testing?

Hydrostatic Testing is pressure testing using water, or another approved liquid as the test medium. It is a quality control method used to confirm the strength of the system by testing above design pressure.

  • Non-metallic piping hydrotesting
  • Valve hydrotesting
  • Heat exchanger hydrotesting
  • Pressure vessel and tank hydrotesting
  • Plant piping (new construction)
  • Utility piping systems
  • Hydrocarbon process piping
  • Gas refinery processing piping systems
  • Boiler feed water systems
  • Potable & drinking water piping & tank systems
  • Amine system, SRU,
  • Fire water piping & tank

  • Identifies welding defects such as cracks, lack of fusion, or porosity.
  • Checks for leakage on the main pressure components, such as blind flanges and flange joint surfaces. These can arise from using the wrong gasket, or from incorrect bolt tightening.
  • Hydrostatic testing allows checking before the line is put on operation - where any leakage could have severe consequences.

Pneumatic Testing

What is pneumatic testing?

Pneumatic testing is a pressure test using air or other approved gas as testing medium to confirm system strength.

It is applicable when systems cannot be filled with water, or where traces of any testing medium cannot be tolerated.

  • Utility system piping
  • Process piping
  • Compressor piping systems
  • Pressure vessels
  • Reinforcing weld pads
  • Pneumatic testing of heat exchangers

  • Accurate test results provides confidence in the integrity of the system.
  • Pneumatic testing does not lead to contamination of pipelines or systems.
  • No need to dry or clean the system after testing.
  • It is a certified test with full records and charts provided.
  • Initial cost is less than hydrotesting.

Nitrogen Purging and Inerting

What is Nitrogen Purging?

Nitrogen Purging and Inerting (LEL & Oxygen removing) is highly effective for pipeline purges, product displacement, and process pipeline Inerting.

Types include displacement purging, pressure-cycle purging, and vacuum-cycle purging.

  • Hydrocarbon tank inerting
  • Refinery piping
  • Refinery shutdowns
  • Nitrogen purging for Sulphur Pit

  • Nitrogen purging has significant advantages over water and air.
  • Nitrogen is dry, clean and reduces oxidation.
  • Nitrogen purging is an industry standard technique. It is used for the replacement of a hazardous or undesirable atmosphere with an inert dry atmosphere.

Nitrogen Leak Testing and Helium link Testing

What is Nitrogen Snoop Bubble Testing?

Nitrogen leak testing (or snoop bubble testing) works by pressurizing the system using Nitrogen gas. The pressure is held while the snoop spray is applied onto joint until the visual bubble inspection is complete.

The sensitivity of this method is about 10-3 mbar·litre/sec.

What is Nitrogen Helium Link Testing?

Nitrogen Helium leak detection is a method of identifying leaks within a process system and quantifying those leaks.

Leak testing can be carried out at up to 95%/90 % of system PSV setting/Customer requirement.

  • Gas processing plant piping
  • Skid testing
  • Valve testing
  • Hydrocarbon piping
  • Wellhead launcher & receiver pipeline
