The Technical Competency Manager will manage the training department and program in a professional, efficient and effective manner. Direct and provide guidance to the training staff to assure training activities are arranged, delivered, evaluated and assessed in accordance with company procedures. Proactive for continuous improvement of all training programs.
Responsibilities of this individual include:
- Ensures own and others’ compliance with all Hydratight standards, policies and procedures
- Assures Hydratight safety policy and compliance is adhered during training sessions
- Takes responsibility for arranging and organizing technician and client training
- Prepares and approves training courses, assessment packs and other relevant documentation
- Carries out product training for Hydratight employees as required
- Conduct presentations of Hydratight Training and Technical Capability
- Ensure equipment is available, safe and calibrated for training
- Manage administration and development of client training courses and assure revenues are captured
- Maintains accurate records of technician competencies using the Competency Skills Matrix
- Submits wage increase documents for skill grade level achievement
- Prepare and distribute training KPI’s as required
- Review and feedback of training material and training aids
- Determine and maintain training areas, rigs and equipment
- Complete all documents in standardized format and controlled in electronic system
- Works with global Hydratight locations ensuring compliance with training audit requirements and offers advice and assistance as required
- Evaluate trainer performance and the effectiveness of the training programs, providing recommendations for improvement
- Presents ideas for improvement and continually seeks to improve current ways of training and assessment
- Proactive approach and communicates regularly with Resource Allocation Leader, Manpower Allocator and Operations Manager.
- Ensures that equality of opportunity (with respect to training and development) is available to all existing and prospective employees
- Promotes and supports the Company’s LEAD program at all levels in the business
Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:
- 2 years minimum management experience preferred
- 2 years experience in a technical training environment
- Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel and presentation software i.e. PowerPoint
- High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed with good organization skills
- Driving license and passport
